By ThePip Desk
Union Minister Piyush Goyal outlines India’s ambitious $30 trillion economy by 2047, emphasizing responsible global trade, circular economy, and expanding international market access.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal recently advocated for a responsible approach to global commerce, urging Indian businesses and citizens to embrace fair trading practices. He highlighted India’s ambition to transform into a $30 trillion economy by 2047, a significant leap from its current $4 trillion valuation.
Goyal stressed the importance of promoting recycling, reuse, and a circular economy while expanding Indian products and services into international markets. He noted that the entire world is actively seeking to enhance trade relations with India.
Expanding Global Reach and Economic Vision
India has already opened new markets for its industries through nine free trade agreements, providing preferential access for various Indian sectors. This strategic expansion underscores the nation’s increasing global economic engagement.
The Minister affirmed that achieving the ambitious $30 trillion economic target by 2047 necessitates collective participation from businesses, entrepreneurs, and citizens. He envisions a future where ‘Make in India’ not only signifies domestic production but also commands global respect for Indian quality, design capabilities, and brand identity.
Catalysts for Economic Expansion
Goyal further explained that sustained growth in India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will naturally stimulate higher production levels and generate new employment opportunities. This economic progression is expected to create a dynamic environment for development.
He pointed to young professionals returning to India with advanced education or new skills acquired from development centers as crucial contributors, bringing innovative solutions to emerging challenges. The collective efforts of Indian businesses, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, farmers, fishermen, and workers are essential for this growth.
These combined initiatives are expected to solidify India’s position as a stronger and more influential participant in the global economy. Goyal expressed confidence that Indian products and natural resources will earn global trust through these concerted efforts.
