India’s Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, will lead the nation’s largest-ever business delegation to Japan from August 24 to August 27, 2026. This extensive four-day visit aims to significantly strengthen bilateral trade and investment under the existing Special Strategic and Global Partnership between the two countries.

The delegation comprises a robust group of industry representatives, showcasing a broad spectrum of India’s economic landscape. Their collective presence underscores a strategic push to deepen economic ties.

  • Sectors represented include manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, steel, and automotive.

Minister Goyal’s Engagements and Key Agenda

Minister Goyal’s itinerary includes crucial meetings across Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, focusing on high-level interactions and sector-specific discussions. In Tokyo, he is slated to engage with senior leaders from prominent Japanese conglomerates and industrial houses.

He will also participate in a roundtable discussion with Keidanren, the Japan Business Federation, an organization representing over 1,500 leading Japanese companies. Dedicated sessions are planned to explore specific high-growth areas.
