He reiterated the ambitious goal of achieving developed nation status by 2047, describing it as a ‘big dream’ that expands the country’s thinking and vision.
India’s Decade of Unprecedented Growth
The Prime Minister highlighted substantial growth across multiple domains, underscoring the scale of development witnessed. These advancements reflect a concerted push towards enhancing both industrial capacity and basic public amenities.
- Defence production saw a nearly fourfold increase.
- Electronics manufacturing grew sevenfold.
- Mobile phone production surged by 33 times.
- Tap-water connections expanded 15 times across the nation.
- Gas connections increased six times for households.
- Housing for the underprivileged rose three times the previous rates.
Pillars of Self-Reliance and Governance
Modi emphasized self-reliance as a central tenet of India’s developmental journey. He urged continued support for key domestic initiatives designed to bolster local industries and consumption.
These initiatives include ‘Make in India’, ‘Swadeshi’, and ‘Vocal for Local’, all aimed at fostering indigenous production and consumption. The government also focused on streamlining administration to improve efficiency.
Governance reforms were highlighted, with thousands of compliance requirements eliminated and hundreds of archaic laws repealed to simplify processes. Furthermore, the expansion of metro networks and the strengthening of public transport systems were noted as critical infrastructure improvements.

Prime Minister Modi hoisted the National Flag, an event synchronized with a 21-gun salute. This ceremonial battery of the 1721 Field Battery utilized indigenous 105mm Light Field Guns, underscoring advancements in domestic defence manufacturing.
