Equity-oriented strategies also posted strong performance, increasing their AUM by 32 percent month-on-month. These strategies represented 29 percent of the total SIF AUM, with an average folio size of ₹14.4 lakh.

Market Volatility Fosters Strategy Growth

Manuj Jain, Co-founder of ValueMetrics Technologies, noted that recent equity market volatility created an opportune environment. This scenario particularly benefited long-short and other market-neutral strategies employed by several SIFs.

Jain also highlighted the increasing number of new fund offerings (NFOs) from Asset Management Companies (AMCs). He confirmed that this trend is enhancing both investor awareness and their available choices in the market.

He expressed confidence in the sustained demand for SIFs, even if a market recovery moderates the appeal of long-short strategies. Investors are increasingly seeking differentiated products beyond traditional long-only options, he added.

Broader Mutual Fund Performance

  • Total mutual fund AUM: ₹85.8 lakh crore
  • Net inflows into Active Equity and Hybrid Funds (July 2026): Approximately ₹30,000 crore
