Among individual stocks, HCL Tech, Eternal, and Kotak Mahindra emerged as top gainers, contrasting with losses in Bajaj Finance, ITC, and HUL.

Rahul Shah, a Research Analyst at Equitymaster, cautioned investors regarding elevated valuations, stressing that even robust assets can become poor investments if acquired at excessive prices.

Corporate Sector in Focus

Several companies made significant announcements impacting their operational and financial strategies.

  • MobiKwik completed the transfer of its digital lending business and related employees to its wholly-owned subsidiary, MobiKwik Distribution Services Private Limited (MDSPL).
  • Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd revealed strategic growth initiatives including expanding into new markets, focusing on premium products, and entering new categories such as solar rooftops, wires, and water purifiers.

Godrej Industries Enters Private Credit

The Godrej Industries Group (GIG) officially launched its entry into the private credit market.

The group intends to raise up to Rs 20 billion through its inaugural Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).

  • The fund is managed by Godrej Asset Management Company (AMC).
  • It is structured as a Category-II AIF.
  • It will adopt a sector-agnostic strategy.
  • The AIF aims to provide credit to established mid-sized private companies.

Infrastructure and Industrial Contracts

H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd for a major power project in Uttar Pradesh.

  • The contract involves constructing two 220/132/33 kV AIS substations at Ranipur and Chunar.

  • The award followed a tariff-based competitive bidding process.

Ducon Infratechnologies was awarded an end-to-end contract to supply and service a Forced Cooling Network (FCN) system for a major Indian aluminium smelting plant.

The company projects substantial growth from the expanding aluminium industry, with demand forecast to reach approximately 8.5 million tonnes by 2030.

Furthermore, Ducon expects to benefit from the power sector, as approximately 33,000 MW of new coal-based thermal power capacity will require fly ash handling and environmental management systems, areas where Ducon possesses established expertise. The company is strategically positioned to leverage increasing investments in Odisha and other regions over the next five years.
