ICICI Prudential AMC Integrates NCDEX Nidhi for Mutual Funds
By Market Desk
ICICI Prudential AMC now allows mutual fund transactions via NCDEX Nidhi, enhancing investor access in India’s booming AUM market, compliant with SEBI norms.
ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company (AMC) has announced an addendum to its key fund documents, enabling transactions for its mutual fund and Specialized Investment Fund (SIF) units via the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) Nidhi platform. This move aligns with broader regulatory changes within India’s expanding mutual fund sector.
Expanding Transaction Capabilities
The NCDEX Nidhi platform will provide the necessary backend infrastructure for these new transaction capabilities. This integration expands the accessibility for investors seeking to manage their holdings through a regulated exchange mechanism.
- Purchase of mutual fund and SIF units
- Redemption of units
- Switch between units
- Systematic Investment Plans (SIP)
- Systematic Withdrawal Plans (SWP)
- Systematic Transfer Plans (STP)
All existing provisions for transactions conducted through stock exchange infrastructure, as detailed in the Scheme Information Documents (SIDs), Investment Strategy Information Documents (ISIDs), and Statement of Additional Information (SAI), will now extend to the NCDEX Nidhi platform.
Regulatory Compliance and Industry Growth
This integration ensures compliance with the SEBI Master Circular for Mutual Funds dated March 20, 2026, and the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 2026. The modifications are effective from the addendum’s release date, with all other provisions of the original documents remaining unchanged.
The broader Indian mutual fund industry has seen substantial expansion, reflecting a dynamic financial landscape. This growth highlights increased investor participation and evolving market structures.
Key Industry Growth Over Five Years
- Assets Under Management (AUM) soared by 143% to ₹85.76 lakh crore.
- Passive assets surged by 324%.
- Equity AUM grew by 224%.
The continued growth across various asset classes, particularly in passive and equity segments, underscores the industry’s robust performance. Regulatory adaptations, such as those by ICICI Prudential AMC, support this expansion by enhancing transaction accessibility and compliance.
