Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced a significant plan to construct a 126-kilometer Marine Drive along the Ganga River. This ambitious infrastructure project is estimated to cost Rs 70,000 crore, aiming to boost the state’s development.

The project is designed to bolster the state’s infrastructure and generate new employment opportunities for its citizens. Chief Minister Choudhary made this announcement during the closing ceremony of the Employment Fair (Rojgar Mela) held in Patna.
Expanding Regional Connectivity
The new Marine Drive will extend significantly, covering a vast stretch of the region.
- Starting Point: Koilwar on the Son River.
- Coverage: Encompassing the entire length of the Ganga.
This new initiative builds upon previous infrastructure efforts in the state. Choudhary referenced an existing 21-kilometer Marine Drive located in Patna, which serves as a precedent for such large-scale projects.

The capital city already benefits from a similar development:

- Initiated By: Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

In other official duties, the Chief Minister also reviewed the preparations for the Shravani Mela in Bhagalpur. This review was conducted remotely via video conferencing, ensuring arrangements were in place for the event.
The extensive 126-kilometer Marine Drive project along the Ganga River signifies a major push for Bihar’s economic growth and connectivity. Its multi-faceted funding approach indicates a strategic partnership between public and private sectors to achieve large-scale development goals.
