Planning an international trip soon? HSBC India has introduced a special offer: zero forex markup across all its existing credit cards for Indian residents.
This promotional period runs from **August 15 to September 15**, aiming to provide you with enhanced value when you spend internationally.
Understanding Forex Markup Fees
A foreign currency markup fee is an extra charge credit card providers typically apply for international transactions.
These fees usually range from **1-3%** of your transaction amount, adding to your overall cost.
- For instance, a **2%** markup fee, combined with **18%** GST on that fee, can significantly increase your expenses abroad.
Spend Internationally with Greater Clarity
Sandeep Batra, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking at HSBC India, stated that this initiative ensures you can spend internationally with greater clarity and value.
You will still enjoy your card’s existing rewards and benefits while taking advantage of this offer.
The zero forex markup applies to a wide range of HSBC credit cards, including:
- HSBC Premier Credit Card
- HSBC Taj Credit Card
- HSBC Live+ Credit Card
- HSBC TravelOne Credit Card
- HSBC Platinum Credit Card
It is also important to note that the HSBC Prive Credit Card and HSBC RuPay Cashback Card already feature zero forex markup on international purchases since their respective launches in **2024** and **2025**.
This offer covers both point-of-sale and online foreign currency transactions during the specified period.
Furthermore, HSBC emphasized that its credit card holders are not charged a Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fee, helping you avoid additional costs when choosing to pay in Indian Rupees while abroad.
Smart Spending Tips for Your Travels
While this offer provides clear benefits, it’s always crucial to understand all associated costs and risks.
Remember to review your credit card’s terms and conditions carefully to ensure that the benefits outweigh any annual charges and other fees.
