Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the leading state across India for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) skilling under the Union government’s FutureSkills PRIME programme.

Official data indicates that over 108,895 candidates in the state have successfully completed certification in these crucial emerging technology fields, showcasing a significant talent pool development.

Andhra Pradesh’s Skilling Achievements

  • Over 108,895 candidates in Andhra Pradesh completed AI and BDA certification.
  • More than 1.5 lakh candidates in the state were enrolled or trained in AI and BDA over the last three years.
  • Cumulative enrollments across all emerging technology domains in Andhra Pradesh exceed 4.3 lakh.

The FutureSkills PRIME initiative, a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NASSCOM, aims to skill, reskill, and upskill individuals in vital emerging technologies.

These key technologies include AI, BDA, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, blockchain, and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), addressing critical industry demands.

National Program Overview

  • Nationally, the FutureSkills PRIME program has recorded over 34 lakh registrations.
  • More than 23 lakh candidates nationwide have been enrolled or trained.
  • A total of 13 lakh individuals across India have achieved certification through the program.
  • Significantly, 86% of participants in the national program originate from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

This substantial expansion in the AI talent base is poised to significantly strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s strategic efforts to attract investments in cutting-edge technologies.

The state is actively fostering a robust ecosystem by positioning Visakhapatnam as a key technology and AI hub, while simultaneously developing Amaravati into a modern, technology-driven capital.
