AI Drives Data Center Boom: Dynacons, Black Box Land Big Orders
By Business Desk
AI’s insatiable demand fuels a data center boom. Dynacons Systems secures ₹3,104 Cr orders, while Black Box boasts an ₹8,986 Cr backlog, signaling massive infrastructure growth.
Artificial intelligence is driving a significant surge in infrastructure investment, with global data center system spending estimated to reach US$822 billion by 2026. This expansion, alongside projected AI infrastructure spending of US$1.6 trillion over the next four years, creates substantial opportunities for digital infrastructure solution providers.
The United States anticipates its AI-specific data center load will surge nearly sixfold to 117 GW by 2030 from 20 GW in 2025. India is also poised for rapid growth, with its data center capacity expected to expand from approximately 1 GW to 5-6 GW by 2030.
Dynacons Systems: Powering India’s Digital Core
Dynacons Systems, an India-centric Digital Infrastructure Platform and Systems Integrator, is capitalizing on this domestic growth. The company partners with major technology vendors such as Apple, Microsoft, and Cisco to deliver comprehensive data center solutions.
Its annuity-linked lifecycle model targets high-security and regulated sectors, including banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), and government. Dynacons’ data center revenue grew 2.5 times between FY23 and FY26, reaching ₹484 crore in FY26.

Black Box: Dominating North American Hyperscalers
Globally, Black Box operates as a digital infrastructure services provider with a strong focus on the North American hyperscaler market. Its Global Solutions Integration (GSI) segment accounts for 84% of its total revenue.
North America constitutes 60-70% of Black Box’s addressable market opportunity. The company anticipates its data center business will nearly double its contribution to total revenue in FY27, reaching approximately 30%.
Black Box Q1 FY27 Performance
- Reported 24% year-over-year revenue growth to ₹1,719 crore.
- EBITDA increased by 38% to ₹160 crore.
- Net profit rose by 18% to ₹47 crore.
Black Box boasts a substantial ₹8,986 crore order backlog as of Q1 FY27, providing 1.5 years of revenue visibility. The company recently secured a ₹1,240 crore data center project from a US hyperscaler, targeting a US$40 billion share of the total AI infrastructure spending.
Comparing the two, Black Box maintains a larger revenue base and order book, underscoring its significant exposure to the robust North American hyperscaler ecosystem. Both companies are strategically positioned to benefit from the global AI-driven data center buildout, albeit with distinct geographical and client focuses.
