The Nifty 50 commenced Wednesday’s trading session with a marginal uptick, opening at 24078.95, reflecting a gain of +0.11% or +27 points from its previous close of 24052.05. This modest positive start follows two consecutive sessions of net selling by Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs).

Early market breadth within the Nifty 50 shows zero advances and zero declines, indicating a cautious start as individual stock movements are yet to establish a clear trend in the initial minutes of trade.
Among the top performers in early trade, Tata Steel Ltd. leads with a +0.25% gain, trading at ₹188.74. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. is up +0.21% at ₹556.35, while NTPC Ltd. sees a +0.17% rise to ₹348.75. Reliance Industries Ltd. and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. also show minor gains of +0.15% and +0.11% respectively.
Conversely, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. is the top laggard, down −0.56% at ₹1830. Adani Enterprises Ltd. trades −0.37% lower at ₹3177, and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) is down −0.36% at ₹248.01. Nestle India Ltd. and Ultratech Cement Ltd. also registered declines of −0.36% each.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) remained net sellers for the second consecutive session on July 14, offloading equities worth −739.69 crore. This follows a significant outflow of −3062.27 crore on July 13. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs), however, continued to provide support, with net purchases of +2927.71 crore on July 14 and +2171.7 crore on July 13.
Investors will closely monitor the market breadth and sustained institutional flows in the next 30 minutes for clearer directional cues.
