Early Movers

Among the top gainers in early trade, technology stocks showed strength. Tech Mahindra Ltd. (TECHM) leads with a +0.35% gain at ₹1515.6, followed by Infosys Ltd. (INFY) up +0.24% at ₹1085. Reliance Industries Ltd. (RELIANCE) also contributed to the positive sentiment, trading +0.26% higher at ₹1300. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) gained +0.23% to ₹3125, and JSW Steel Ltd. (JSWSTEEL) was up +0.22% at ₹1223.7.

Conversely, Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (BAJAJFINSV) was an early laggard, down −0.36% at ₹1832. Asian Paints Ltd. (ASIANPAINT) registered a −0.25% decline to ₹2668. Eternal Ltd. (ETERNAL), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (ADANIENT), and Bajaj Auto Ltd. (BAJAJ-AUTO) also saw minor dips, trading −0.17% lower at ₹285.95, ₹3146, and ₹10314 respectively.

FII and DII Activity

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have been net sellers for the past two consecutive sessions. On July 16, FIIs recorded net outflows of −₹4205.56 crore, following −₹735.83 crore on July 15. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs), however, provided support, with net inflows of +₹2986.41 crore on July 16 and +₹704.93 crore on July 15.

Investors will be watching for sustained momentum in the index and sector-specific movements as broader market participation picks up.
