The Nifty 50 opens Friday’s session at 24056.00, marking a +0.14% increase from its previous close. Early trade indicates a mixed sentiment, with large caps showing strength while midcaps face initial pressure.
The Nifty 50 commenced Friday’s trading session with a gap-up opening, settling at 24056.00, a gain of +34 points or +0.14% from its previous close of 24021.65. The Nifty Bank also opened positively at 58177.05, up +27 points or +0.05%. In contrast, the NIFTY Midcap 100 started lower at 61795.50, registering a decline of −340 points or −0.55% against its previous close of 62135.25.

Sectoral performance shows notable divergence; top performing sectors include those gaining +2.25% and +0.68%. Conversely, some sectors are under pressure, with declines of −0.86% and −0.20% observed.
Among the top movers in early trade, Interglobe Aviation Ltd. (INDIGO) leads gainers, up +4.66% at ₹5450.00. Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. (MAXHEALTH) follows with a +3.85% rise to ₹1123.35, and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) is up +3.84% at ₹3182.20. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MARUTI) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (TATACONSUM) also show strong gains, up +3.75% and +3.02% respectively.
On the downside, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) is the top loser, down −2.88% at ₹233.10. Power Grid Corporation Of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) declines by −2.41% to ₹283.90, while Hindalco Industries Ltd. (HINDALCO) is down −2.40% at ₹953.20. Tech Mahindra Ltd. (TECHM) and Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) also feature among the top losers, with declines of −1.68% and −1.54% respectively.
Institutional activity shows Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) as net buyers over the last two sessions. On June 25, DIIs recorded a significant net inflow of +₹5747.75 crore, with Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) also turning net buyers at +₹383.76 crore. This contrasts with June 24, when DIIs bought +₹3637.26 crore and FIIs were net sellers with an outflow of −₹1843.4 crore. Overall, FIIs have registered one consecutive sell session.
Investors will be watching for sustained momentum in large-cap stocks and any further shifts in midcap performance over the next 30 minutes of trade.
