The World and the Economy
Global markets reacted to the U.S. midterm election results, which saw the opposition party gain control of Congress, sparking hopes for a potential de-escalation in Middle East geopolitical tensions. This expectation, combined with a dip in U.S. Treasury yields, contributed to a sharp drop in Brent crude oil prices, providing a tailwind for Indian equities. Domestically, the Union Cabinet approved a ₹2,814 crore capex support scheme to promote critical mineral processing, aiming to reduce import dependence and bolster domestic value chains.
