Laxmi Dental is scaling up its domestic manufacturing infrastructure by transitioning to a new self-owned, horizontally integrated facility in India by the end of FY28.
Facility Scale and Transition Plan
Management disclosed the strategic move during an earnings call on November 4, 2026, moving away from current leased, vertically arranged units in Mira Road. The expansion is structured around specific footprint and timeline targets.
- Current footprint: 35,000 to 40,000 square feet across existing leased units.
- Target footprint: 1.25 lakh to 1.5 lakh square feet, representing 3x to 3.5x the current area.
- Transition timeline: A gradual, phased process to avoid business disruption, targeting completion by the end of FY28.
The company aims to address growing operational complexity and improve workflow efficiency through this consolidation. Land acquisition for the new site is currently ongoing.
Capital Allocation and IPO Fund Realignment
Shareholders approved the reallocation of Rs 48.1 crore of unutilised IPO proceeds to fund the construction of the new owned dental laboratory and aligner manufacturing facility across FY27 and FY28. The capital deployment is divided into distinct investment categories.
- Land and infrastructure: More than Rs 27 crore earmarked for land acquisition and building construction.
- Equipment and assets: More than Rs 21 crore designated for machinery, computer equipment, and other movable assets.
Management noted that this infrastructure investment is designed to provide the necessary capacity and operational foundation for the company’s next phase of growth in the dental technology sector.
