Grasim Industries, part of the Aditya Birla Group, and Lubrizol Advanced Materials have inaugurated a new Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) resin manufacturing facility in Vilayat, Gujarat, India. This strategic move aims to significantly boost domestic production and reduce India’s reliance on imports for this crucial material.
Key Details of the New Facility
- The plant is located within Grasim’s chlor-alkali complex in Vilayat, Gujarat.
- Its first phase has an annual production capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes of CPVC resin.

This collaboration merges Grasim’s manufacturing expertise with Lubrizol’s cutting-edge technology. Jayant V Dhobley, Business Head and CEO of Global Chemicals at Aditya Birla Group, stated this partnership is a “significant milestone in the development of India’s chemical industry.”
