The Indian rupee strengthened by 4 paise against the US dollar on Tuesday. The domestic currency ended the session at 94.80 (Provisional) compared to its previous close of 94.84 on Monday.

The currency reached a high of 94.88 and a low of 94.60 during the trading session. This movement occurred as crude oil prices fell overnight following reports of potential peace talks between the US and Iran. Additionally, capital inflows from foreign institutional investors provided support to the rupee. These investors were net buyers on Monday with a total of Rs 3,114.68 crore.

Market participants maintained a cautious stance while awaiting the results of the US mid-term elections. Meanwhile, optimism persisted after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the government intends to sustain economic growth through continued capital expenditure until private sector investment increases. In global markets, the euro softened against the US dollar after France reported a budget deficit of 155.4 billion euro for the period between January and September 2026.
