As of June, the fund house commanded a significant portion of the overall industry. Its 4.02 crore folios accounted for 14.4 percent of the total 27.86 crore mutual fund folios across India.

Sundeep Sikka, MD and CEO of Nippon Life India Asset Management, expressed gratitude for the trust of these 4 crore investors. He highlighted the company’s role in facilitating wealth creation for millions of retail investors and enabling Japanese investors’ participation in India’s growth.

While other major fund houses like ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, and UTI Mutual Fund hold substantial folio counts, Nippon India Mutual Fund leads. The top 10 AMCs collectively account for 71.6 percent of the industry’s total folios, indicating a concentrated market structure.

The notable difference between the total folio count and unique investors suggests a clear trend. Retail investors are increasingly diversifying their portfolios across multiple schemes, driving growth in overall folio numbers.
