Titagarh Rail Systems secured an additional order valued at ₹1716.90 crore from the Ministry of Railways. The company will manufacture and supply 4,955 BOXNHL wagons under this new contract. This development follows the exercise of an option clause within the original agreement between the two parties.
The Ministry of Railways placed this order under the same price, terms, and conditions as the initial contract. Titagarh Rail Systems must complete the execution of this supply order by June 7, 2027. The company stated that this addition brings the total quantity of BOXNHL wagons under the contract to 9,994 units. Consequently, the total value of the contract has risen to ₹10,404.10 crore, which includes GST.
Titagarh Rail Systems operates in the manufacturing and sale of various products including freight wagons, passenger coaches, and steel castings. The company also produces specialised equipment, bridges, ships, and heavy earthmoving machinery. This latest order adds to its existing manufacturing commitments for the railway sector.
