Lloyds Metals & Energy received approval to establish a 360 MW thermal power plant in Konsari, Maharashtra. The company expects the project to require an estimated capital expenditure of ₹3,240 crore. Its board of directors formally cleared the proposal during a meeting held on November 03, 2026, to expand its existing operations.
The new facility will consist of two 180 MW units to reach the total installed capacity of 360 MW. Lloyds Metals & Energy plans to fund this development using a combination of debt and equity, which includes internal accruals. The company will determine the specific financing mix at a later stage as the project progresses.
Completion of the power plant is scheduled for March 2029. This timeline remains subject to the company obtaining all required regulatory and statutory clearances. The firm currently operates in the mining, sponge iron manufacturing, and power generation sectors. This new plant represents a continuation of its business activities in these areas, as stated by the company in its recent disclosure to the exchange.
