Jupiter Wagons secured new business contracts worth over ₹324 crore from GATX India and Chetak International. The company will manufacture and supply its new-design ACT2 wagon platform to these private operators. These agreements follow the company’s recent order from the Ministry of Railways for 2,583 wagons valued at ₹1,140 crore.
The company received a Letter of Intent from GATX India for the production of 10 rakes, which totals 270 ACT2 wagons. This specific agreement holds a value of ₹214.94 crore. Additionally, Chetak International placed an order for 5 rakes consisting of 135 ACT2 wagons, valued at ₹109.10 crore. These figures include GST.
Jupiter Wagons stated that these contracts demonstrate the increasing demand for its ACT2 platform among logistics firms and private wagon-leasing companies. The company maintains a diversified order book that balances government requirements with private sector demand. Beyond its rail operations, the business manufactures vehicle bodies for commercial vehicle original equipment manufacturers.
