Europe’s largest asset manager, Amundi, has launched tokenised share classes for its Amundi Money Market Fund – Short Term. This significant development is a collaboration with Ant International and European asset servicing leader CACEIS.

The initiative aims to provide real-time treasury management and tokenised investment solutions, initially for Ant International’s intra-group liquidity needs.

Key Details of the Partnership

  • The fund’s new share classes are denominated in euros and US dollars.
  • CACEIS serves as both the transfer agent and tokenisation agent in this three-way arrangement.
  • Ant International is the initial client, utilizing the solution for its intra-group liquidity management.
  • The partnership enhances Ant International’s operational efficiency and on-chain treasury capabilities.

Future Expansion & Strategic Vision

Looking ahead, the partners are exploring launching the Amundi Money Market Fund – Short Term on Whale, Ant International’s proprietary blockchain-based treasury management platform. The broader objective includes onboarding Amundi funds onto Whale and jointly creating new global money market fund solutions for corporate treasurers.

Fannie Wurtz, Amundi’s Deputy General Manager, emphasized the project’s role in advancing real-world tokenisation applications. Kelvin Li, Ant International’s General Manager of Platform Tech, highlighted the goal of instant, borderless money movement through blockchain and AI, offering secure, compliant investment products accessible 24/7 globally.
